CHAPTER 12

Daniel 12: 1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Michael is the arch angels that stands up for Israel. There is war in heaven and Satan and his angels are cast out of heaven onto the earth and will never be able to get off the earth again (Rev 12:7-8). This the mid point of the tribulation and the antichrist commits the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel (Matt 24:15). At this time God will have prepared a place for the Nation of Israel in the wilderness and he will feed them there for the last three and half years (Rev 12:6; Matt 24:16-21). All of the those that endure to the end of the tribulation will have their names written in the book of life that will be open at the white throne judgment (Rev 20:12).

The Body of Christ (the church) will stand at the judgment seat of Christ and when the heaven are cleaned by Satan and his angels being cast out onto the earth the church will take over those positions.

Daniel 12: 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The Old Testament saints that had a spiritual resurrection when Jesus rose from the grave will be born again in natural bodies and will be part of that army that follows Jesus on white horses (Rev 19:14). Also the little flock that believed that Jesus was their Christ will also be resurrected in natural bodies. The rest of the dead will not be resurrected until the white throne judgment (Rev 20:5, 11-15) and then they will be cast into the lake of fire.

Daniel 12: 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

We learn from scripture that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, he who winneth souls is wise, and the wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.

Proverbs 1: 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Daniel 12: 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Through Daniel had been a faithful recorder of the prophecies received from God. Daniel only partially understood what he was writing. Now Daniel is instructed to close up and seal the words the book until the time of the end. Those who will profit most by the prophecies of Daniel will be those who will be living in the end time.

Daniel 12: 5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

Daniel is still standing on the bank of the Tigris when he saw two others, one on one side of the river and the one on the other side.

Daniel 12: 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

Daniel 12: 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Daniel hears them conversing, one of them said to the man clothed in linen, how long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled? The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his hands toward heaven swears by him who lives forever, saying it will be for a time, times and half time. This expression us is three and one half years or the last three and one half years of the tribulation period (Rev 12:6, 14).

Daniel 12: 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

Daniel 12: 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Daniel still does not understand the prophecy and he asked, my Lord what will the outcome of all this be? He was told to go his way because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.

Daniel 12: 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Daniel was further instructed that in the end time some will be purified by their persecutions but the wicked would not understand.

Daniel 12: 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

From the mid point of the tribulation period to the end of that time is 1260 days. 1290 days backward from the end of the tribulation period there are 30 days before the abomination that maketh desolate take place. During this time the covenant is broken with Israel. There is a image that must be set up in the temple and there is war going on in heaven and Satan and his angels are cast out at the mid point of the tribulation.

Daniel 12: 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

The ones that makes it till the 75 days from the end of the tribulation period are blessed. When Jesus returns he come to the mount called Ollvet which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath day's journey. He makes His triumphant ride on a white horse into Jerusalem (Acts 1:13). When he come to Jerusalem He is crown King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The nations are gathered before him and judged (Matt 25:31-41). The government is set up with David setting on a throne under Him and the 12 apostles will be given thrones and they will judge the 12 tribes of Israel (Matt 19:28).

Daniel 12: 13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

When Daniel is resurrected at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, he will receive his lot of land just like the Lord had promised that the Nation of Israel that they would inherit the earth.
