WHO ARE THE SONS OF GOD IN GENESIS CHAPTER SIX?
Gen 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began
to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Some may teach that the sons of God in Genesis 6 are the sons of Seth. It is true that the seed line came from Seth down thru Noah and thru Shem to Abraham where the chosen seed came, Isaac, Jesus. When we look at scripture we can see that the sons of Seth cannot be these sons of God but they are fallen angels.
Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
These sons of God present themselves before the Lord and Satan came with them. These are angels because they on the Holy Mountain of God in heaven (Isa 14:13; Ezk 28:14).
Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
It is true that angels in heaven can’t get married because they are celestial bodies made by God (I Cor 15:40) but when they appear on earth they always appear as men (Gen 18:2).
Jude 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
There is no doubt that fallen angels have been on the earth and during the time of Noah, Satan used these angels to try to corrupt the seed of the woman (Gen 3:15). He knew that God had told him that thru the seed of the woman he would be defeated. God destroy man from off the face of the earth except Noah and his family who were perfect in his generations (Gen 6:9).
Matt 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Matt 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark.
We are living in the age of Grace, and God is not using angels to deal with men for they are unseen (Col 2:18) and we have the complete prophecy of God. When the Body of Christ is taken out at the rapture God will deal with the Nation of Israel again and there will be angels on earth again (Rev 1:20). Also the tribulation period will be like the days of Noah and angels will be taking the daughters of men for wives.
Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
The kings that rise up during the tribulation will be angels and they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men. In fact, during the tribulation period Satan and all his angels will be cast out of heaven on to earth and will not be able to get back into heaven. The Body of Christ will take over the governmental structure of the heaven after the Judgment Seat of Christ is over (II Cor 5:10).
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
