Your Next Life Fashion

All that have trusted in what Jesus Christ did on the cross for them are baptized into His Body by the Spirit and are members of the body in particular, have been promised a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.

Philippians 3:21---“Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself”.

1 Corinthians 12:13---“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

1 Corinthians 12:27---“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”

Now we know that the saved will have a body like His body.  So what does His glorious body look like?  We know when Jesus came out of the grave he appeared to Mary, but He told her not to touch Him for he had not ascended unto the Father.

John 20:17---“Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father:  but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.”

A short time later when He appeared to Thomas, He told him to reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side.

John 20:27---“Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.”

So, Jesus could go from earth into the third heaven in a split second and return.

Paul tells us that we will bear the image of the heavenly.

1 Corinthians 15:49---“And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”

He also tells us that we will be raised incorruptible.

1 Corinthians 15:50---“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”

1 Corinthians 15:52---“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:  for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

We can now understand what kind of body the saved will have.  The saved will be raised a spiritual body, a celestial body, one that can live in the heavens forever.

1 Corinthians 15:44---“It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.  There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”

Jesus Christ does not now look like He did when He was upon the earth as a man.  John sees Him in that glorified body when he is caught up into the throne room of God.

Revelation 1:13---“And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.”

Revelation 1:14---“His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;”

Revelation 1:15---“And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”

He will not look like the picture we see in our Bible or the one on the wall.

A lost person when he dies also receives a different kind of body.  They will receive a body that can be in the fires of hell and never will burn up.  Their body will also be fashioned like their father.  The rich man died, he lifted up his eyes in hell.  He was not in the same body that went to the grave else he would have burned up.  He could still see, he could talk, he could hear, and he still could remember his life on the earth.

Luke 16:23---“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”

Luke 16:24---“And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”

The soul of a lost man is referred to in the scripture as a worm.

Mark 9:44---“Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”

Isaiah 66:24---“And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me:  for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”

Psalms 22:6---“But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.”

Satan has many names in the scriptures.   In Genesis, he is called a serpent.  In Revelation, he is called a dragon.   In Job, he is called a leviathan.  Satan is a created cherub that never will die.  He can appear in many different forms.  Today he is an angel of light, but when he is put into the lake of fire, he will be a worm that will not burn up.

Revelation 20:10---“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.”

Satan shall be in the lake of fire forever with all those that have rejected what the Lord Jesus did on the cross.  He died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day for our justification.  (1 Cor.15:3,4)
